Tanya's number was UNBELIEVABLE. Technically demanding, super high, artistically gorgeous, and heart breaking. I am getting chills just posting this. Phew!! She's a bride left at the altar, climbing higher and higher as she sheds her gown, veil, garter, and ring.

_DSC0333
Shot from my room at the Mill Mountain Theater's visiting artists' atelier. I was in Roanoke, VA to photograph for their Overnight Sensations festival most especially for Hollins University's Playwrights' Lab summer intensive. My dear freind Todd Ristau is its founding director.
Have you seen these people??
I am looking for models to portray the Shelleys and Lord Byron. Do any of my PDX locals have ideas? It will simply be replicating the old paintings, so very easy. Pays only in chocolate.

What a send off
Well, I just had quite the 3 hour screen test. Well, OK, half of that was screen test (with the very talented idiotsynchronicity as my scene partner - thank you!!) and the other half doing some pre-vis stuff for the production team. As ever, once I was working I could not have been happier. But before and after? The Nerves. Behaviorally under control, but in my private brain? ; )
And now? The send off for what?
I am off to AFRICA! See you all next month. When I am home for 2.5 weeks before I head to the old home stomping grounds back east (north and south this trip, I do believe).
Photos! Theater/film! Horses! I'm keeping it all going. : )
Yes, riding has been AMAZING lately. We blew the clinic teacher's mind the other day. Woot.
And Ashland was great, too.

Cabaret
I had the good fortune to be able to take my mother to the tech run of cabaret while she was in town. We all enjoyed it greatly. Lots of yummy period details, bravo to the dance captain, that Storm can sure sing, the old couple really delivers the message, and Wade McCollum was uniquely, perfectly wonderful... and having way too much fun. If you are not the sort offended by BIG, get out there and eat it up with a spoon. Well, I guess if sexy isn't your bag either....

No 24 Hour Play Festival for me
FYI - I just had to cancel my participation in this weekend's 24 hour play festival. You should go any way.

What have I done?
I signed up for the 24 hour play festival. What have I got myself in for? I was thinking something along the lines of crazy fun/focused application of time. My parents fly in the next day! AT the same moment I should be photographing the divine Mr. Richard Thompson! Aw, heck. If all the 48 hour film fest guys can do it, I can do this. I am praying that my writer won't want me around for the overnight writing part...

Pendulum

I did a session with Pendulum Aerial Dance Theatre a couple weeks ago. Here's my favorite final from that shoot.

Rufus Wainwright
Isn't he a devil? I got a wonderful series of close ups at the end of song 3, but they are all beastly red. I had some success ridding this image of it and will play further with others. I'll even go dig out the raws.
